"The group behind the local favorite Aficionados Brickell Wine & Spirits have opened their first restaurant concept, The Arketekt. After over 20 years in Pembroke Pines, 9 years in Coral Springs and 7 years in Brickell, the owners have decided to venture into the culinary world.
Under the consulting culinary direction of Chef Jean Paul Desmaison, former owner of the well-known restaurants, La Cofradia in Coral Gables and Jean Paul’s House, and Chef Ivan Mackliff, formerly of The Big Easy, Andu Bistro, The River Oyster Bar and several others, the two chefs have joined forces to create a unique yet approachable global menu for this brand new Miami eatery. Along with Mackliff’s team at The Arketekt, he brings inventive, creative and flavorful dishes to the Downtown Miami area.
The carefully curated menu offers a wide variety of small plates and a distinctly local craft cocktail menu with signature drinks that will blow your mind and your palette. The bar program takes inspiration from its neighbor, Aficionados utilizing unique spirits, rare liqueurs and only the freshest ingredients.
A notable component to The Arketekt’s beverage lineup is the extensive wine list and half bottle program that allows guests to experience multiple flavor palettes. One of a kind and the only one in Miami, the half bottle program brings esoteric and unique wines from family owned vineyards, made by hand to the people of Miami. There are 50 wines served in decanters and the patron will be able to taste several types of wine as opposed to committing to an entire bottle for the same price."

Ordered the gnocchi for dinner but there ended up being a mess up in the kitchen where the yelp you hadn’t been prepared correctly earlier in the day. The chef knew it was our first time at the restaurant and wanted to ensure we had a great first experience… so he let me order something else and gave my table free dessert (tiramisu) to make up for the incident. Lovely staff, customer service and ambience.
Food was delicious. Server was super nice and personable. And she was hustling. It looked like she was the only one taking care of the bar and the tables.
