"Nix is a new restaurant from Michelin-starred chef John Fraser, drawing on his personal passion for cooking with vegetables. With the belief that eating vegetarian or vegan should feel more celebration than sacrifice, Nix features dishes that are seasonal, shareable and highly flavourful. Innovative cocktails, housemade sodas and an affordable, adventurous wine list complete the menu, all served in a lively Greenwich Village atmosphere."

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Manhattan. The food is creative and inspired, the cocktails are offbeat and fabulous, and the atmosphere is clean and sophisticated. Most importantly, it's the kind of food that makes your body feel good both while you're eating it and after you leave.
I ordered four items. Started with an appetizer of an egg salad. It was delicious and simple. Next I ordered a lettuce wrap with shiitake mushrooms. This was nothing spectacular. I had to make it and eat with my hands. I felt awkward and messy doing this in a fancy place. For desert I had a chocolate cake which was vegan. I would come back to try other items . I also ordered a non alcoholic drink of soda and pear juice which was phenomenal
Great place -- really simple decor. We got the pancakes and the nix Benedict, they were both great but the vegan pancakes were probably some of the best I've ever had.
