"Located at 208 South 13th Street in Philadelphia, Maison 208 is a two-story New American Restaurant and Social serving small and shared plates, craft cocktails, beer and natural wines. Seasonably open-air, Maison 208 invites guests to feel at home and enjoy a casually sophisticated and relaxed atmosphere while enjoying an elevated meal. The menu is spearheaded by Season 14 Top Chef contestant Chef Sylva Senat. The six-story mural by artist James Burns of Mural Arts of Philadelphia is visible throughout the building and is best viewed in 'The Social' under the retractable glass roof, the first of it's kind in Philadelphia."

It was excellent. We ordered the scallops, the lamb, the pork shank, the corn, as well as the Kobe lollipops. Everything was fantastic - food, service, and decor.
The restaurant as a whole has a nice ambiance, whether for daytime or night. The location is a big deal, where it also has outdoor seating. I would give it a half star less for the food -- my sandwich was a double decker and they slathered Dijon mustard on each conceivable slice of bread they could do. The menu was generally underwhelming but the restaurant is promising.
I came to Maison 208 for restaurant week and had mixed feelings. I enjoyed the music, the interior design, and service (all the staff were very warm and friendly). However, the our 2 main courses was too salty to enjoy. The Ice Cream and sorbet desserts were served in bowls with two flavors... they did not mix well together. The green tea ice cream had a hint of durian which I did not enjoy. Overall I had a great time and would come back if the food was given more care.
