As you walk into Empellon Taqueria, you see a casual atmosphere of with white walls and graffiti canvases; you expect to order your typical fish taco. Holy mole, were you wrong. Alex Stupak, one of the most inventive dessert chefs of our time decided to open this upscale taco spot on steroids. The food is outstanding and outshines the relaxed decor. Don’t expect the typical; be blown away by the unusual - deboned chicken wings soaked in a tangy peanut mole.

We ordered the guacamole and 7 salsas, lamb tacos, fish tacos, and steak tacos. The food was so delicious and filling. The waitress was so friendly and attentive. My boyfriend, who is mexican, said the tequila menu at the bar was impressive. 10/10 would go back.
The vibe was awesome! Energetic and happening. The salsas and guac are a definite must try. We ordered the tacos and they came out great. The margaritas were highly complimented by our friends too. I want to try their Midtown location next.
My boyfriend and I loved the ceviche! So delicious and fresh. The tacos were amazing. I got the duck carnitas tacos, definitely something I would not have expected, but the duck was cooked perfectly. The only hitch was that we had to wait about 25 minutes for the tacos, which I feel was a bit long. But they were amazing! The dessert was okay, nothing compares to their tacos though.
