"El Original TXMX taps into a historical and nostalgic cuisine, from the Vaqueros and Cowboys of early Texas cattle drives sharing food by the campfire to the communal tables of businessman and women; over the past couple of centuries, it has forever remained a close comfort of Texans and non-Texans alike, from Tejas to NYC, and Paris to Hong Kong.
A team of native Texans hailing from Ft. Worth/Austin and Dallas/Houston, and a New York icon turned Tex-Mex convert, bring you the basic Tex-Mex comfort food you deserve — inspired by seven generations of Texas family roots — as well as sub-regional cult-favorites and standards."

The drinks were strong. Loved the guac. Food was ok, but not great compared to several texmex cuisines in New York. The ambience is pretty good. It's on 10th avenue so you won't see many tourists there which is a good thing.
Anyone who worked there who we encountered were so genuinely nice. So excited to have us there through reservation. The service was great, and I’m a stickler since I’ve worked in the restaurant industry before. The space was huge, but intimate thinks to books and crannies. Bathrooms clean and large as well.
We ordered breakfast steak and eggs.
I ordered the steak medium and they burned it. It came with potatoes and guacamole. The guacamole was very tasty and fresh.
There was a lack of service. Only one server available and he was pretty busy.
Restaurant bathrooms were very clean.
Overall not sure if I would go back and spend 20$ on burnt steak again.
Gave them 5 star because the waiter was extremely friendly.
