Went here for the first time for a business lunch and it was awesome! The ambiance, service, and food were all excellent. Highly recommend the white truffle pizza!
I came to Black barn for brunch on a Saturday morning around 1130. Let me just tell you this place is huge they have so much room for seating which is great. I’m a big fan of ambience and they definitely had it here it was very rustic farm to table vibe. Edison bulbs, wooden beams, leather chairs etc. very trendy and very cool vibe.
My boyfriend got the classic bloody Mary and I just stuck with good old coffee. They do have the coolest build your own bloody Mary bar which has an insane amount of options and is definitely a go to if multiple people are getting bloody Mary’s. They had so many good things on the menu that it was hard to decide what I wanted to eat. They start with two little cornmeal muffins which were delicious. My boyfriend got the huevos rancheros They were delicious and came with two tortillas and two eggs it was definitely a hearty portion and even he had trouble finishing it. It was a great dish and had fresh elements such as fresh radish which was a nice addition. I got the sweet potato pancakes which was a hearty stack of three with candied pecans and crème fraîche sauce. The actual pancake it’s self was great because it was sweet but not too sweet that being said I couldn’t even eat half. The crème fraîche was very different because it had a hint of cayenne pepper in it which was a great offset to the sweet syrup.
The service was very good and very informative about the dishes. I had to send back my first coffee because the almond milk had turned a little bit and my waitress was more than willing to make the change and brought me a new cup very quickly. I highly suggest it as a brunch spot!
Service was excellent and very attentive. I didn't feel it was the most exciting menu but it will appeal to almost anyone.
Got the truffle gnocchi on the side which I felt was a little overrated considering the reviews I read online. The chicken and ribs were both delicious. As well as the buffalo mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes.
Would recommend to people looking to dine near Madison Square Park.
